Written by John Mark who was a close friend of Peter and Paul.
Written around AD 60.
Who is Jesus? and Why did he come?
8:27

First, title

Second, the back story

Third , arrival of Jesus

Three surprises….
1. Jesus seems ordinary
2. Jesus baptism
3. Jesus sent out into the desert

Two important applications…..
First, Do I do you love and delight in Jesus as the Father does?

Second, How important is the gospel of JC is to us?
Have you repented and believed in the good news of Jesus?

Almighty heavenly Father thank you for the good news of Jesus your long promised King. Please
forgive me for turning away from you and help me to turn back to you. Please may Jesus be my
delight, thank you that he came to defeat Satan and sin. May you help me to believe and trust in
your forgiveness each and every day, in Jesus name, Amen.
