24/4/2022

This was Rupert's final Sunday as Minister at St Paul's Hadley Wood. We said farewell to Rupert, Hillary, Victoria, Jamie, Nick and Lexie with a wonderful bring and share church family lunch. Thank you to all those that made the day so special. Many thank to Rupert and his family for their many years of service at St Paul's Hadley Wood.
Finally thank you to Hester Ruoff for putting together the video displayed below so that this day can be remembered.

We held our first pancake party to celebrate the up coming Shrove Tuesday. There were lots of pancake themed crafts, tasty pancake snacks, a pancake quiz maze and plenty of pancake races. Thank you to everyone who came and made it such a pan-tastic event, hopefully we'll see you again next year.

National Day of Reflection

23/3/2021

Tuesday 23 March 2021, one year since the first lockdown. There is hope on the horizon, but many have experienced loss and challenges over this past year in the historical context of a pandemic never seen before in a generation. St Paul’s Church, Hadley Wood desires to support you, your family and community at this time by marking the ‘National Day of Reflection’ coordinated by the charity Marie Curie and supported by the Church of England, designated a special day to reflect on collective loss and grief.

We mark this through the reading out of the name of the friends, family and residents of Hadley Wood that have been lost over the past year. Then we invite you to join us in a minute of silence at 12 noon to remember and reflect. Then the following poems will be read out 'Gone From My Sight' by Henry Van Dyke and 'The Years BC: Before Covid' by Pamela Liseter, followed by a prayer and blessing. Finally the Prayer of Saint Francis, put to music by Sebastian Temple will be sung by a member of our congregation.

black lives matter

27/9/2020

Black Lives Matter has raised a number of issues within our communities and in response St Paul’s Church, Hadley Wood held an event on Sunday 27 September 2020 to help us be a more inclusive and diverse church family.
Samuel Jnr and Samuel Snr Okoronkwo shared their experience and reflections that effected them. John Hall introduced the danger of conscious and unconscious bias and Kirsty Birkett took us through some biblical principles of inclusion and diversity of being in Christ Jesus. You are most welcome to view the YouTube presentation.
